Jeanne-Marie Phillips
President

Jeanne-Marie Phillips, founder and president of HealthFlash Marketing, is a public
relations and marketing communications expert with 20 years of experience. Her
award-winning campaigns combine a full range of attention-generating and revenue-
building techniques.
Both strategic and tactical, Ms. Phillips is a highly experienced program development
specialist and journalist, who has managed campaigns for dozens of companies in the
general healthcare, medical equipment and IT fields. As head of HealthFlash, she has
leveraged sophisticated communications and promotional techniques to help clients
successfully build market share and revenues, establishing them as industry leaders or
positioning them for sale.
Jeanne-Marie Phillips leads the strategy and program development for every account,
provides in-depth writing services and acts as a key client contact, assisted by a
diverse and experienced full-service account team. In this role, she has interviewed
medical experts from around the world about breaking healthcare technologies and
written in-depth articles that have appeared in wide-ranging publications, helping to
generate strong visibility for clients. She attends over a dozen major medical meetings
every year to keep abreast of developments in the field.
Prior to launching her firm under the name of Jeanne-Marie Phillips Communications in
New York City in 1986, Ms. Phillips held management positions with a range of well-
known New York City marketing communications firms, including Hill and Knowlton,
Rowland Company and Porter Nouvelli. In these positions, she managed diverse
accounts in the healthcare, general consumer and business-to-business arenas and
today brings a far-reaching experience and vision to meeting the needs of every client.
Jeanne-Marie Phillips has held a variety of workshops and is a frequent lecturer on
marketing communications. She is author of a monthly column in a major industry
publication exploring healthcare technology trends.
Jeanne-Marie Phillips is a graduate of Cornell University, where she studied English and
biology.
Ellie Becker
Account Manager
Ellie Becker has spent several decades designing strategic public relations marketing
programs that help meet clients’ business objectives, while building their reputations
and brands. She creates and implements successful business-to-business and
consumer campaigns in media relations, online PR/marketing, crisis planning and
response, community and internal relations and marketing support.
With considerable experience in healthcare, Becker also has worked in a wide array of
industries, from entrepreneurial and growth firms to nonprofits and advertising
agencies that do not maintain in-house PR capabilities.
Over the years, Ellie Becker has been an editorial contributor on public relations topics
to consumer, business and trade media covering various industries, including MX
Magazine for medical device executives. She has contributed content and a monthly
column to a marketing channel of the Internet.com technology portal. She also has
been a guest lecturer at Columbia University Graduate School of Business, University
of Connecticut at Stamford and Southwestern Connecticut State University.
Melissa Diamond
Account Manager
Melissa Diamond is highly experienced in corporate, government and agency public
relations – with a strong emphasis in healthcare. Her broad background in
communications includes public affairs planning, crisis management and media
relations.
Diamond’s development and implementation of communications themes and strategies
have proven highly successful for a broad range of commercial and professional
businesses and institutions. As public affairs and corporate communications manager
for the Electrolux Corporation, she developed a case study for a model plant closing for
the United States Department of Labor.
Diamond holds a master’s degree in communications from the Fairfield University
Graduate School of Corporate & Political Communications, in Fairfield, Connecticut. She
is a frequent seminar presenter on public relations topics and has served as a guest
lecturer at the Columbia University Graduate School of Business. She is a member of
the PR Collective, Fairfield County Public Relations Association and the
Westport/Weston Chamber of Commerce.
Wendie Owen
Media Placement Specialist
Wendie Owen is a highly skilled public relations professional with over 25 years
experience and demonstrated expertise in print and broadcast media placement and an
extensive background in medicine, pharmaceuticals and general healthcare.
At HealthFlash, Ms. Owen contributes to client program development and general
implementation with special emphasis on media placement.
Before joining HealthFlash Marketing, Ms. Owen worked on a contract basis for many of
the nation’s major public relations agencies, including the GCI Group, Porter Novelli,
Manning, Selvage & Lee and others. Her expertise and contacts benefit the media
relations and media placement assignments she handled for clients that included Tyco
International, Bristol-Myers Squibb, International House of Pancakes, Elsag Bailey
Process Automation N.V., QuickQuote and others. She has successfully placed clients
in all types of media. She also has managed an ongoing speakers bureau for Med
Synergies Co.
Ms. Owen was appointed by the Carter Administration to serve as Advisor on
Communications Policy to the Secretary of Energy James Schlesinger, with input on all
of the Department’s communications and information outreach activities.
Wendie Owen began her career as a researcher and writer for clients ranging from The
New York Times to Dr. Joyce Brothers and Norman Cousins. She also worked on the
political campaigns of Hon. Allard Lowenstein, Senator Edmund Muskie and Hon.
Richard Ottinger.
Molly McDougall
Account Assistant
A vital part of the HealthFlash team, Molly McDougall assists with client relations and
media outreach, and is responsible for administrative work for all accounts. Prior to
joining HealthFlash Communications, she was an assistant account executive for a CT-
based advertising agency.
Molly McDougall is a recent graduate of Notre Dame University.
